Bed time again!

Wednesday August 5, 2009

On Sunday, I started a reward program for Jessica for going to bed. Bed time was a nightmere. It was a fight every night that would last for two hours. She threw a fit every night like it was something new that we went to bed every night. It usaually end in yelling or spanking and that was not working for either one of us. Sooo.

I made another one of my charts. After three nights of going to bed 1. in her own bed (this was a big one), 2. with no fussing, crying, complaining etc. 3 had to go to bed on time. I made her a clock poster with times on it so that we can learn to tell time as well as to accomplish number 3.

So far it has worked very well. For the last four nights there have been no fights, and she is sleeping in her own bed. Yehhh.

So after the 3rd night she got to pick something out of the surprise box.

Thanks to janma and yardsales I had more than enough stuff set aside upstairs to make our first awards box.

She had to evaluate everything before picking.

She choose a sun catcher craft.

Painting her suncatchers.

She finished painting her first one.

She has already told me she know what she is picking for her next one!

Now on to bargains. Consignment sale season is upon us. Here are a few things I have picked up so far.

This is a little reference manual. We will use this as they get older.

Thought these were very cool. In one school year it takes a child through reading the whole bible. There is a book for kindergarteners through 5th grade. Paid $5.

Got a new storage container for $5. Nathan helped me fill it with cars!

Thought these were cool for $2 each. These are matchbox car loaders, they can fill up the top and bottom of them. Was planning on these to be a present but Nathan found them first.

This was neat for $2. It is a giant pegboard. We used it today to help Nathan with his colors.

Pair of lined pants for $1. I got two of these. One in 3T and 1 in 4T. These are great pants for when we go ice skating.

Shirt for Jessica for Christmas. $1.

Six shirts for Nathan for $7. The polo was $2. The rest were $1 each. All in good condition.

Lined pants for Nathan for $2.

Books for Jess. Got all three for $1.

More parts to add to our marble run. $3. We can make a huge one now!

Snow Princess. This will be Jessica's Halloween costume. $5.

.
I love character plates. 50 cents each

Good find. Batman and Spiderman in pretty good condition. One was $2 and one was $4.

Neat books $1 each.

For two dollars I got over 20 gliders. Thought these would be great for a craft at sparks one night.

Cool buy, these are board puzzle books and this is an ABC one. It is also magnetic so each of the pieces stick in the book. $2.

Hanging thing for Nathan's closet. I put his socks, underwear, and diapers in it so he can get these things by himself now. It is spiderman! $1.

Now I am out of money. Do you think I can stay away from the rest of the consignment sales???
