Batman wanted to be spiderman

Last week we had friends over to play for the day while their mom was with her sister waiting for their new cousin to be born. Batman woke up and wanted to be spiderman so that turned in to three spidermen. Little LB wanted her face painted too so we just did something small for her. By the end of the day I had also painted the rest of the street with spidermen and princesses. My face paint has really come in handy!

We played with our new chalk from Janma and Grandpa and made roadways all over the place.
The little ones traced designs with chalk.
The boys were ending the road with with a "stop" sign and a "turn around" sign.
Then we needed a break so popcorn and a movie it was. Also so LB could take a nap before we headed back out to play with bikes and cars in the afternoon.

Fun day.

Bring on the swimming

It is hot and humid! Just recently it is the kind of weather where you walk outside and it hits you like WOW it is hot. And I am thinking this is only the beginning. It is going to get much hotter.

The pools in the neighborhood opened during the weekends only in the month of May. Then the day after school is out, they open everyday. So on Sunday after Ladybug's piano recital, we headed over to explore one of the six pools we have access to.

Each home is issued two electronic passes to access the gates at the pool. They are all staffed with life guards except for one that is open longer hours and is a swim at your own risk pool. I have told the kids that we can go to a different pool everyday of the week with six pools and two splash pads.

The kids loved it and I loved it. To be able to get to a pool in under five minutes is fantastic and I foresee us taking advantage of it! The one we went to today had two slides and the kids did them over and over and over. Ladybug has been swimming for 3 years now but Batman just got good last year before the move and I was so excited to see he had not forgotten anything and just took off swimming in the deep end. With two swimmers, it will be a much different experience for me this summer.

So after two and a half hours we closed the pool down and reluctantly headed home to get ready for the last full week of school.

Field day 2011

I have about 20 blog posts to do for the last month and I am going to do my best to catch up.

Here is Ladybug's field day. I got to help with this one. They don't allow kids to come to the school with you so I haven't been able to volunteer but today he was allowed to help.

Batman and I ran the bowling station for the second and third graders and then stayed for the the Kinder and first grade and walked around with Ladybug.

They had about 30-40 stations set up. Each child got a plastic bracelet with the stations numbers on them. They competed against each other (teams of four). Then you would mark on the bracket what place you got at each station. First place was one color, second another etc. The kids were free to choose what ever stations they wanted and when they wanted. Each group of first graders had a fifth grade buddy to walk around with them. Then at the end of they day, they took each of the colors they earned and made a necklace.

It was a very fun day. They kids were all taught about sportsmanship and just about every group that came to the bowling told me thank you for being there and they all encouraged each other and told each other they did a good job.

It was very well put together.

Baptism book - COPMLETE!

Cross one thing off my list that is a mile long! But this was important so I wanted to get it done before her 7th birthday!

Here is Ladybug's baptism book remembering her baptism and the events leading up to it and all the special people involved in the day. Not to mention all the people who stood up for her that day. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it.

I needed this....

Life has been crazy! I love it but the house still feels like it is a wreck and I have a list a mile long of things I need to do. So I have been putting off exploring Houston like I would like to do.

So when I saw an event pop up today that we could attend I decided to go for it. We invited some friends to join us which made it even more fun and it was so nice to just go and hang out, with no cleaning and laundry, organizing or anything to do but watch the kids play.

The only thing that made me sad was that my Ladybug was not there to join in the fun. She would have loved it. But the days of school are numbered! We are so looking forward to the summer time!

Hopefully I will post soon

I know it has been awhile but I fully intend to get some posts in as soon as I can! I probably have 500 pictures to go through since Easter. Ahhhhhh! Overwhemling when I can't post in order. I have two photobooks in process that need to be finished, one for Ladybug's coming birthday and add three photoshoots to that mix with another 600 photos, many of which need editing, My dad and Jan coming to visit for 5 days that were a complete and total whirlwind of the boys custom designing and building our new office and Jan and I spending three entire days searching the streets of Houston for a piano. It leaves us all exhausted and ready to drop into bed every night and of course it leaves me ready for school to end and the summer fun to begin so we don't have to worry about bedtimes and wake up times etc.

Soooo. I hope to get you a picture update soon but don't hold me to it! But I do promise I will get back on track!
