Ladybug's first game

What a fun day. It started out early in the morning with a parade. Then brunch at McAlister's, then to Batman's game, a one hour break (enough time to head home and cool off in the air conditioning) and then Ladybug's game.
A few girls posing for the camera before warming up.
A few more jumped in.
Then the rest of them.
Of course you need a silly shot!
Ladybug's first at bat. Around here no matter where you play, it is all t-ball for this age. We are playing within our subdivision's program and it is very non-competitive.
Made it to first.
And made it home. When you hit the ball, you actually only run one base at a time. You stop at first and let the team on the field, field the ball and throw it where it needs to go and then the next person bats and you run one more base. Now if they get you out, you do have to go back to the dugout. Like I said very non-competitive. But the girls all had a lot of fun.
Playing pitcher her first time in the field. She loves pitcher position. She is almost what I would call a ball hog. She loves to be anywhere she can get her hands on the ball!
Yellowjacket ready!
Caught the ball.
Good throw to first base.

And she is out! Notice Ladybug jumping up and down at the out they got.
And another good play.

Up to bat again.

Look it is daddy as the first base coach!
Going to second.
Had to do a little posing on third.

And we made it home.
Uh oh! Second inning we ended up in right field. Not a lot of action here. She backed up the first base a couple of times and that got her hands on the ball and then once she actually went and caught the ball for the first baseman. Then coach told her to stay in the grass. lol. She hence the yawning.
Short pep talk.

Ok, cool, back in the infield at second base. A little more action here. She has not played second base much. So it took her a couple of plays to learn where to take the ball if she got it. But she figured it out.
This time she got the ball but did not beat the runner.
But this time she did. She got her out.
Good game guys.
And of course snack time.

It is gonna be a fun season!

Sad yet exciting

Oh it is so sad. I was fine till I walked in the school and saw all the paperwork stations and then I got the tight feeling in my throat. I didn't cry. But it put the facts front and center that this preschool stage in our lives is almost over. It has been 7 perfect years but things are going to completely change in a few short months.
My big man struck a pose for the camera before heading into kindergarten registration today.
And all smiles with his new Swenke snow leopard shirt on after all was said and done.

I think he is also very happy because he gets to ride the bus!

Things I am lovin!

Kirklands!

I found the picture at Kirklands for my downstairs guest bathroom.
Along with this holder for toilet paper...
The embroidered garbage can....
And matching tissue holder.
Along with the rug from target pulled the bathroom together.

Lovin it.

Bling.....just the beginning?

Ok. They bling here. Yep. Never in a million years would I have thought my current projects would be bling. But here it is.

First on the agenda, is Ladybug's batting helmet.

Of course I couldn't take the easy way of doing things and purchasing the prepasted bling letters which were full price and not on sale. I went for the doing it myself way.
One perfectly pink helmet.
Puffy scrapbooking letters. I felt that that black under the bling would make it stand out just a little bit more.
Lots of bling.
Letters on her helmet.

Mostly completed project. The black under the rhinestones does make the letters stand out more.
Then we blinged around the front.
We added a cross on the very back and USA designs on the side.
Ladybug was very pleased and informed me that everyone liked her helmet.

I have a "playdate" scheduled with another mom on Tuesday to do a little more research in to blinging us some baseball t-shirts. This may only be the beginning! Looking forward to it!

Slippin and Slidin

During spring break it got pretty warm one day. So I pulled out my water bucket and we found the slip and slide. Here are a few of the kids playing on it.
