I promised the kids on Friday night that we could play with glitter. So when they woke up I had the glitter and glue ready for them to play with. They made designs with the glue and poured different colors on it.
Nathan is wearing his wolf costume which he really likes. It is also in honor of the wolf in Where the Wild Things Are.
Then the kids and I headed over to Barnes and Noble in Hendersonville for story time. They had the "Wild Thing" from the book Where the Wild Things Are. My mom gave us the book this summer which was Tracy and mine's book when we were kids and Jessica and Nathan really liked it.
This is Jessica and Nathan listening to the story. Logan is Jessica's friend from school sitting beside her.
The "Wild Thing" helped read a couple of scarry stories.
After the story, they had a craft to make which was a wild thing mask. The kids enjoyed decorating their scary masks!
Nathan and his mask!
Jessica and hers!
Then they had a snack of animal crackers and milk for all the kids.
After Barnes and Noble, we headed over to Kohls to get Jessica another bathing suit. We have swam so much this summer, I have had to throw three suits away because they got so stretched out!
Then we headed up to Franklin, KY for a birthday party. The Anderson's just moved to Knoxville and they had lived across the street from us. Blake and Jessica got to be friends. He was turning seven and was having a transformers pool party. The kids had a great time!
Nathan saw the kids jumping off the diving board and he got right out and went and jumped off. He did it over and over and over and would swim the length of the pool after every jump. He was making me tired just watching him!
Jessica jumping off the board!
All the kids in the pool.
Nathan eating his snacks, he forgot about the cake and ice cream once they brought out the cheetos!
But then they were worn out. We got home about 5:15 and made some dinner and went to bed.
After they fell asleep, I headed out for coupon shopping! First I went to Kohls. Nathan needed a new pair of school shoes. I found him a pair of spiderman shoes that were $30, on sale for $20 and I had a $10 Kohls bucks plus everything was an additional 15% off so for around $8 I found him a great pair of shoes!
Then off to Kroger. I had a bunch of coupons and a bunch of things were on sale this week that we use. All in all, I ended up saving about $50 in coupons and my total bill was only $120. Not bad for grocery shopping! It it took me an hour and a half to go through all the sales and coupons but I had fun.
