Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July from the kids!!

Saturday July 4th, 2009

Well plans do not always go as expected. We finished working in the back yard cutting back the trees and then hung around the house and had planned on going downtown to watch the fireworks. But about 5 o'clock, it started raining and thundering. It looks like White House fireworks were canceled and we are hoping they will reschedule for tomorrow. And downtown did happen but Chris was downtown and said it was pouring down rain and people were running for their cars.

The kids were so disappointed. Nathan just said "no fireworks" and started crying. But we did have some things for them to do at the house. Chris bought some snaps and some sparklers and they got to do some of those for the first time and enjoyed it.

Nathan watching the snaps hit the ground. He was so funny every time he got one to pop. I tried to get a picture of his smile, he would smile big and jump up and down saying yehhh.

Holding one in his hand trying to figure it out.

Daddy handing them out.

Daddy told them to throw them up in the air and here Nathan was waiting for it to come back down and pop.

All three waiting for them to pop!

Jessica throwing hers.

Here is Jessica with the sparklers. This was the first time they had used these and they were not quite sure. Jessica picked it up pretty fast.

Now Nathan on the other hand was really not sure. He had to watch Jessica and I hold a couple of them before he would even try to hold one. Then he tentatively held the last one. But he had this serious look on his face the whole time and didn't move till it burned out. So funny for my fearless man!

And lastly here are the fourth of July flip flops I made for Jessica. They match the bow that I had already made last year.
