Let's go picking!

Last Saturday when Chris was in town, I heard that there were peaches in season to be picked and Chris loved the idea. So we headed out on Saturday morning and our first stop was Bottom View Farms for breakfast.

They have a great breakfast and fast service and good prices. The kids have been asking for French Toast and they ate every bite. Love Batman using his knife and fork.

Had to get a ride in before we left.

Bottom view does have blackberries to pick but we are not really blackberry people. So we went over to Bradley Farms to find our peaches.

Yep, they are out there. All that dried land is where the strawberries are planted and the kids wanted to know where they strawberries were.

We had to watch out for the bees because they like the peaches that fall on the ground.

There were tons of peaches! Plenty to pick.

Hmmm. This one looks good.

Look at mine!

Batman wanted the high ones.

So we ate on peaches for a week and the kids loved it. They would eat two or three at a time. That night we made a delicious peach cobbler. Then when they were really ripe, we canned some peach jam! Walmart has all the stuff to do it and with a little and guidance from Teri, we were very successful. I say we because I was in the kitchen at the time, but my husband is the only real cook in our house. It was so delicious! We devoured half a jar in a weekend.

Now that we have the stuff to can, I am thinking apples may be next!
