On Monday we went to Long Hunter State Park for "the Nature Circle" program. Ms. Liana is a biologist and she teaches a science class every Monday that is free. Today's class was on camouflage, lizards moths and snakes.

She encourages each child to bring something relating to the topic that week and each child has a chance to bring their item up front. Batman jumped right up and went up to show her his lizards.

She reads books and then we did a craft. We made stick bugs today and the paper is so you can see how they blend into their environment. Then she had a little game for the kids. We had fun and will go back next Monday for "totally turtles".

After class we found a nice shady spot by the lake for our lunch.

Then played by the lake for a little while.

On Tuesday, we met up with another little boy E and his mom and went swimming at the YMCA. The boys had a great time swimming together.
Then that afternoon, Batman had his first gymnastics class at Gymini. I went ahead and signed up both kids so they could go at the same time. I am glad I did. Batman had a great time and I was impressed with the class. After being so happy at My Gym I was so glad I liked it. And Batman did a great job listening to instructions.

Climbing the wall.

Walking the balance beam. The lighting is terrible in the gym. I need Chris's lense but he has it in Texas!

Getting his stickers for completing tasks.
Then on Wednesday, we went to HB to volunteer in the office. Let me tell you how proud I was of Batman! I like to volunteer but I knew it would be hard with Batman being home with me this year. But Mrs. Orendolff said he was welcome to come with me so we tried it. He was so good. He helped me with all of my tasks. He walked the halls with me copying the kids walking on the lighter lines in the hallways. He helped move boxes. He talked to all the teachers and assistants that we ran into. When we was not helping, he sat quietly and played his Leapster or played with his magnets. Everyone that saw him said he was so well behaved. (If only they knew huh). And to show him how much I appreciated him letting mommy do something she wanted to do, I actually went and bought him something new (as in it was not a used toy or something out of my stash upstairs). He got to go and pick out a new game for his Leapster. He picked Walley.
Then Thursday was our home day. We just stayed home and piddled. We did go to the grocery store.
The Friday, we met up with another friend and went to the downtown library to see the new puppet show Many Moons. This was the first puppet show that I was not totally impressed with. The boys did very good sitting and listening but I think it is much more geared for older kids. Ladybug would have gotten more out of it. Then we had a picnic lunch at the library and let the boys run and play.

Well they were trying to pose for their best action man picture on the stone bench and Batman's leg slid off along the stone bench and we received this very nice, very big scratch. Yep, that one hurt. We wrapped it up in gauze and medicine when we got home and he woke up on Saturday and declared it didn't hurt anymore. Gotta love him.
We had a very good week. Next week we will add in Speech on Monday's and Friday's. He is doing much better with his talking but really still needs the classes. Then the following week we will add in swim lessons on Wednesday afternoon for both kids.
