Welcome to St. Thomas. When we went to bed we had not yet left San Juan. We were leaving about midnight. Then when we woke up, we were already in St. Thomas. Nathan woke up first otherwise we would have all slept longer! But as Nathan said, the sun was up and he could see land.
We had no fixed plans today. But as soon as Jessica was up she asked to eat again. I think she has finally gotten this eating thing down! On the other hand, I have eaten too much and feel like I am never going to eat again. Of course I probably will.
Tracy and Mark were scheduled to scuba dive today. So we were on our own for the morning. We ate some breakfast and then headed off the boat. Our first stop (after bathrooms for the second time, sunscreen application and several water breaks) was a butterfly farm that was actually only five minutes away. It took us at least 30 with the kids. Lol.
I think the kids enjoyed the butterflies. Jessica was very funny, explaining things to our tour guide before she had a chance to tell us. She likes butterflies. It was neat and we got to see several different species of butterflies. But overall, it was not worth the cost. We have been to better butterfly gardens and places where they had more butterflies.
Then we walked for probably a couple of hours. Chris bought a shirt and the kids bought a magnet of St. Thomas. We got stuck in a couple of downpours. It would rain for a few minutes and then the sun would be back out, then another rain cloud would move in.
Then about 1pm we headed back on the boat to eat some lunch. Tracy and Mark were back and joined us. We had planned to ride the sky ride up to the top of St. Thomas but at this point it was raining again so we stayed aboard.
I took the kids to camp carnival They were doing candy bingo, watercolors painting, and H2O goup which Jessica said was fun. It is really nice, they have really enjoyed the kids place. Every time we ask if they want to go, they always say yes and go right in most of the time without even saying bye or see ya. I am glad they are enjoying it!
While they were there, we played some cards for awhile and then decided to go on shore again to get a drink, so we found a little bar right across from the boat that was playing music. We had about an hour before we had to pick up the kids.

Then it was time to get ready for dinner. We are going through more clothes than I had anticipated with changing clothes in the morning and then before dinner and then sometimes again after dinner! I took the kids to camp for dinner tonight. Then have been eating with us but tonight they could decorate their own cake for dessert and they wanted to eat there! Plus it gave us a night of adults at dinner. But I over did it tonight. I had quesadillas and shrimp cocktail for appetizer, plus bread, then pasta for the main meal and then that chocolate melting cake again. I so totally over did it. Need to cut back on the food.

Our waiter dancing at dinner tonight.
I keep having visions of the movie Walley where they all get on the ship into outerspace and over the years, they eat so much and get so big that they all sit in chairs and are being moved around by computers. If I keep eating, I am going to be right there with them! And I don’t mean this is a bad way, but there are so many of the unhealthiest people I have seen gathered in one place on this boat. I have not seen very many “fit” people. The staff are the healthiest looking people here.
But anyways, the kids stayed at camp until 9:30 tonight and they had to be exhausted! But they had bunny night tonight and got their faces painted like bunnies and made bunny hats. When we picked them up they were all laying on mats watching a movie and then Nathan got up and started hopping like a bunny and he wouldn’t stop! He hopped all the way back to the room. I think it was the last little bit of adrenalin working its way out!

We had some more adult time and enjoyed the hot tub and played a little cards. Then we were all exhausted. Let’s hope that Nathan sleeps a little later in the morning!

Aunt Tracy's present for tonight to the kids.
