A little catch up

Now that I have finished the blog for last week - minus the good pictures, which I have not started on. If someone could take over my responsibilities for say 3-4 days, I might be able to get everything done that "I" want to get done! But I don't see that happening anytime soon so, you will just have to wait for the very cool dolphin pictures.

This is in no order this week lol.

On Wednesday, I had MOPS and we had the greatest craft! In honor of Breast Cancer awareness this month, we decorated pink umbrellas. What a great idea. We just used fabric markers and traced our designs. They said that they should withstand water.

Then Jessica had to do a "family" pumpkin project that is due tomorrow (Friday) and this was the first chance we had to get to it. I mentioned it to Chris this morning and when he got home tonight, he asked what we had to do. So I put Nathan in the bath because he was driving me bonkers and Jessica and Daddy pretty much did it all together. This is something that Jessica loves to do so they had a great time.

Here they started out painting the pumpkin.

Daddy was drying it so they could put a second coat on and then to decorate it.

Look how neat. Jessica took Glitter glue and traced the outside of the pumpkin and the loops at the top and then added bows, and balls and made hearts with these little tiny circles. Then painted grass in and used foam letters to spell out her name. Then she wrote a short page on what she did. She pretty much did it all by herself. Chris controlled the glue for all of the embellishments but she did the rest.

Then a note came home on Wednesday that Thursday was the 50th day of school and that the kids were to dress like the 50's with the girls in poodle skirts. Ok, come on, 12 hours of notice and Church on Wednesday night. So this is what we came up with. I thought she looked so cute. We borrowed the scarf from a friend.

Now I have to confess that I lied to my daughter today. Look at that shirt, it is sooo cute like that. Well on Wednesday, I got it out of Nathan's closet and asked her to try it on. She started crying and said in her exact words" I will be so embaressed if I have to wear a boys shirt to school". What??? She has always let me dress her. So after several times of trying to get her to wear it, she just wouldn't so we decided on a short sleeve white shirt that I had to wash at 10pm last night because it was dirty. Well, I got up this morning and Nathan's shirt was still sitting there and I said "look, I got a new shirt" I told her it was not Nathan's and she was so excited and put it right on and wore it the entire day! Tonight right before bed, she told me that she was not embarrassed to wear the shirt to school today. I apologize if you read this someday Jessica. Just remember that mom's always know best.

This is a shot from before fall break at parent teacher conferences. She was standing beside her scarecrow outside her room.

Ok, here are some pics of Nathan's happenings this week.

On Tuesday, we headed to storytime at the library and fed the ducks before hand.

The table is a much safer place to feed them from. lol.

Then for story time Firefighter Kevin came to talk to the kids about fire safety. That was cool.
He put all his gear on for us to show the kids not to be scared.

Here is his heat camera.

Nice surprise.

Then we went to My gym and they were doing there week on Safety as well. So they got to rescue people and go over stop drop and roll as well.

Picture from Cubbies on Wednesday. Rene came and got me so I could see. They were having their cubbie cafe and the kids took turns serving each other. Nathan is in the chef's hat.

Nathan and I played go fish today. He sat there the whole time and loved the part where he got to go fish and telling me to go fish. But he kept making airplanes and helicopters out of his cards in his card holder. The numbers are still too much for him but he could play by the pictures and was very good at matching them.

We also made grilled cheese sandwiches today. I thought that if he cooked it then he might be more likely to eat it. Not the case. He loved cooking them, but had no interest in eating them.

Then I am in frantic bow mode trying to get bows made up for Vendor day so I made Nathan a bed in the kitchen for him to watch his movie.

You should be caught up for the week. Except for the 3 makeup soccer games on Monday and Tuesday. Then I got to help the Asst. Principal out at Jessica's school this week. I spent a couple hours hanging road and cars and states that the kids decorated on the walls. Then I started hanging the extra cars on the ceiling stapled to a long red ribbon. Very cute. They still had a lot of road to tape up though lol. Next week is red ribbon week and "Say no to Drugs". I don't think Jessica knows what drugs are. Am I supposed to start explaining that in kindergarten?

Then Thursday was bow day. I took the kids outside to ride bikes because we might not get another nice day anytime soon and Nathan has been asking to ride. So I sat and sewed bows together.

Then tomorrow I have to work. Really wish I could just sleep. I feel like I can not get ahead and I just finishing things right before they need to be done so I don't get behind. When are things going to slow down? What happened to both kids being in school three days a week, and lots of free time to work on pics. It is 50 days or nine weeks into school and I have yet to start working on pictures!
