Family Project Febuary

Daddy got to watching a little You Tube. So last weekend became "Family Project" weekend.
Pour Batman kept up as best as he could but he was still not 100%. Whatever stomach bug he had wore him out for almost seven days. But today he took his rests in the garage on the floor so he could still be with us.
Ok. Family project: Air Powered Rocket Launcher! Here the kids are holding the wires that would eventually attach to the trigger.
Daddy and Ladybug testing circuits.
Batman was up!
Still testing.
We had to take turns holding the trigger button. When Chris found this trigger, he said he found a big one for the kids! When he said big I pictured the Staples Easy Button Big. lol
Look at Ladybug, she got to hold the trigger.
Big helper.
Ok, Saturday we got the whole thing put together and got a couple of test shots out.
You use a bike pump to get the air pressure into it. This picture was right before I got blown up. We were all ready to to start testing it but we didn't wait long enough for the cement glue to harden and when Chris pumped it up the next time the ends blew off. I know it is very hard to explain. I was the only one at one of the ends thank goodness. But I had a fantastic bruise on my upper arm to let everyone know that my husband beat me up. After 8 days, it is now turning yellow and the bruise is almost gone.
Then we created out own rockets out of paper. This was the first test rocket that daddy and Batman made while Ladybug and I were at a birthday party.
It was almost dark when we got our first shots off.
Batman pulling the trigger. It worked fantastic. It goes really high. We got about six shots off before it was too dark to see.
So Sunday after church, we each started on our own rocket creation.
First Ladybugs...
Then mine.
Batman was helping to create the noses.

And off we go again in the daylight.
All of our decorated rockets.
Ready to go!
Ladybug first.
Push the button!
My turn.
You had to run to get it!
The rockets were made out of paper and they worked great. But after shooting them so many times, and if it came back nose down, this is what would happen.
A little playing on the playground after we were done.

We headed to Awana and then home. Everyone was tuckered out!

Family Project = Success!
