I would like to formally announce that a year and a half after I started working with Batman on his colors and had finally given up that all of the sudden he knows his colors. Last week he just started identifying them.
Batman has also learned to say I...Don't...Know. He says it very very clearly and very distinctly. His speech teacher taught him after he would tell her I donano (all garbled together). He was so proud of himself that he went home and told Ladybug I don't know over and over and she was like OK! I KNOW!
And Lastly the book that I taught Ladybug to read with was 100 easy lessons to teach your child to read. The book has been very successful for us and for me in learning how to teach a child how to read. Ladybug is somewhere in the 60's on the lessons (when you get to 100 you will be on a second grade reading level. Well I have showed it to Batman a couple of times and he has watched Ladybug and is learning his letters and sounds (which is actually not necessary for the book). But tonight I was ready to start it with him and he did awsome. He moved through the first three lessons in a breeze. I think four is where he needs to start and we will keep working through it. With Ladybug we have stopped and started over the last couple of years depending on her mood and I figure we will do the same with Batman but for now he really enjoyed doing it!
