Safety Labor Day

Monday September 7, 2009

Labor Day. Each year they have a safety day at the White House City park. We went last year as well. But this year we got there early and participated in the bike parade. I didn't know what to expect. It was very neat. The cops closed down the roads. We started at the fire station and rode back by the school and got on the greenway and rode all the way back to the park. Chris and I even rode with the kids. Now Jessica did great. Nathan did awsome for this being the longest bike ride ever. There were a few hills that he needed assistance on and one down hill that he literaly would have run right off the side is some nice lady hadn't caught him but other that we brought up the rear of the parade and made it the whole way!

Jessica ready to go.

Daddy and the kids.

Yep got a pic of me in there with Jessica. I rode with her most of the time then let daddy take her over the finish line and I stayed back to help Nathan finish.

This was when we started. Look at all the people.

Nathan and Daddy

Next off to the festivities. Here they are learning from the fire department about Stop, Drop and Roll.

How to check and see if a door is hot?

Thought this was so cute. Little Nathan sitting up against his tall daddy!

Jessica tried the rock wall climbing.

Got to watch them fill the portable water tank.

Here we are ready for our obsticale/training course.

Here they are checking the air in the tires. Look at Nathan!

Teaching them the ABC's of riding bikes. A= air, B = break and C = Chain

Then off to the obstical course.

Here the life flight helicopter was landing.

Daddy with the kids after one of the courses.

Thought this was cute with the two of them.

Had to go see the helicopter.

Nathan found a spot up high to sit on.

Jessica found her own seat!

Then here is one of the drills they lead them through.

Very fun morning. But is was hot outside.
