Now I get a little giddy, I love parks, I love Sea World and I want to do everything there two or three or four times!
First off, we need a plan. Our number one priority was to see the shows. Number two was the rides and number three was to eat!
First off the Sea Lion show. By far my favorite show. They are the most fun to me.
Ready and waiting for it to start.
The kids are both at a great age where they can handle waiting for it to start and they both sat and watched the whole thing. Immediately declared they wanted to see the night time Sea Lion show as well.
The Walrus.
Next a ride on the Shamu Express.
Then over to the water park and a visit with the characters.
Just a little part of the water area that is new to the San Antonio Sea World.
Ok. Yes it is a cup. But that is a valuable cup. It costs $3 for a cup to be filled with water or a coke. Well, it was hot. Record temps last week and you are at the mercy of the park for food and water. They offer an all day dining plan. For $30 per adult and $16 per child, you can eat and drink all you want at the park all day long. So boy did we take advantage of it. We would walk up and get a water or coke everytime we passed a restaurant and we each drank our $30 just in drinks throughout the day. Not to mention the food! $8 for a kids meal. Just lunch alone paid for the all day eating pass. And you could get an entree, a side and a dessert - Each time you went through the line! So basically as much as you wanted and you didn't have to pay, just showed them your band and kept walking. It was great also for snacks. We stopped and got watermelon and strawberries ($4.50 each for a serving) and pudding and cake and all we did is have to show them our arm band. Definitely worth the money!
Playing in the water.
More characters.
Cracks me up. Batman is taking pictures along with Jess and then we walk up to the two girl characters and he looks at me and says no way! He was not taking his picture with two girls.
Another ride.
Water ski show.
More planning during lunch!
Family shot!
Ok.... after the second show, the kids caught on to the splash zone. "Mama, why can't we sit in the splash zone? So for the Shamu show the kids and I sat down on about row 4 in the splash zone while Chris and his parents sat up high and took the pictures.
It's shamu!
And this is what it looked like when they came to splash our section. Let me tell you it was COLD water and it hit you hard and we were totally SOAKED! They didn't ask to sit down there again.
Here is Shamu and baby shamu. It was very cool to see the baby always swimming by the mama and they train the baby by letting it learn from his mama. So for most of the show, they were together.
We caught one of the Sesame Street show. Daddy conveniently didn't schedule all the kids shows, aka toddler shows into the day. lol.
Ladybug and her ducks. She would have sat here for an hour with the ducks if we would have let her.
And the dolphin show. Well, it was kind of a bust. The animals didn't want to cooperate and they had to stop the show 2 times because the animals wouldn't go in the back when they were supposed to. Then they ended the show early. Bummer.
All in all a fantastic day! Just not enough time. We saw all the shows and we got to ride all the rides that the kids could ride at least one time but we wished we could have ridden more times and we definitely took advantage of the food and drinks. Would have been nice to have more time to play in the water park too but made the most of the entire day. We opened the park and we closed it that night and we all had a fantastic time!
