Meet the teacher!

Thursday was Batman's Meet the teacher day and Friday was Ladybugs. Batman woke up Thursday morning and walks out of the bedroom bleary eyed and crawls up in my lap and asks when he gets to meet his teacher! He was so excited! Ladybug did the same thing on Friday morning. First thing out of her mouth. So glad both kids are excited about going to school!
For the Kinder meet the teacher, we all assembled in the the cafeteria. Then they called the teacher name and the kids would go line up with their teacher. I didn't know this was how it was going to work, I just assumed we came between these certain times and we would go to the classroom. So we were just a couple minutes late. Batman missed his teacher being called, so I had to walk him down to the Kinder rooms. Another teacher saw us and she took him from me.

First off, I was not sure about the whole, walk in and separate from your parent thing. I wanted to be there when he met his teacher for the first time. Second, I was not sure how this first separation was going to go. Batman did beautifully! He runs to the teacher that came to show us where to go and turned around and waved at me! (Cry)

Then they had a little talk for the parents in the lunch room and then we walked down to the Kinder room to meet the teacher. Batman said they met the music teacher and that his teacher read a book to him. He was happy when I got there.
At his desk (the smile looks a little painful.) But he was happy.

Friday was Ladybugs turn. She was very excited, I know she is ready for school.
Ladybug at her desk. We are excited that she only has one teacher this year and has no switch teacher. Of course she did great. Today was much easier, you do just go between certain times and walk to meet your teacher. So there are only a few parents in the room at a time and you are not arriving in the room with 20 other parents at the same time and we got to chat with her teacher a little. We chatted with the music teacher and then walked down the first grade hallway to see her teachers from last year.

And my sweet pea. She wore her school shirt today so I made a pony tail to match and if you look closely, I blinged the ribbon! So cute! Can't believe my baby is a second grader!

Next milestone to over come is the bus stop on Monday morning. Waiting to see if both kids actually get on the bus or if I have to take one to school. But so far everything has gone much smoother than I expected.
