Ice Cream Social

Last night was our back to school ice cream social. This will be the third year the school will be open. The first year, they took kids from the two other elementary school in our neighborhood and combined them so they started an ice cream social as a way to meet and greet.
Here is my newest bling shirt. The kids and I finished it just in time to wear it tonight. They would turn the jewels over while I placed them into position. I thought it was sooo cute! And I decided I was going to learn to crochet, so the headband in her hair is a sparkly black one I crocheted for her.
Ladybug and her friends. She is so excited about going to back to school.
Batman not so much. He is acting shy. Might be a little tough on those first days for him. We shall see. We found out his teacher today and he is like... whatever. Not sure he actually realizes what is coming!
Enjoying her ice cream.

A little happier now! He found the girls down the street to play with and they began a game of duck duck goose on the cafeteria floor.

It looked like the ice cream social was a big success. There were tons of kids there and it was my first official function to take pictures and I loved it! I am going to have so much fun doing the yearbook this year.

Then we walked out the side doors to cheer practice that evening. Note to self, ice cream before cheer practice is not conducive to a productive evening. All the girls were a little off after playing and eating ice cream for an hour and then having to cheer for an hour and a half.

By the way, I have the cutest little cheerleader. See first picture in the post. Wait till we get the uniform and bow in her hair!
