First week and a half of school

Here is Ladybug's school stuff from the first week and a half. They didn't do a whole lot the first three days because it was not a full week. But they began introducing time. She pretty much already knew the hour and half hour that they introduced so it was a review for her.

On Friday's they send home spelling words and math homework. The spelling test over those words are on the following Thursday. The spelling sheet has homework for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which is just to write the words one day, put them in abc order one day and write three sentences the third day.

The math seemed pretty simple addition and subtraction but they use different language, you have to find the "action" and the "operation", so I had to brush up on a couple of skills. And they are doing word problems to solve math problems. So the math doesn't take her too long.

So far as I have seen, no books come home to read. I am not sure what they read during school and they have no reading requirements at home other than "we encourage them to read at home." So of course, I made my own reading requirements and a goal for her. I will post it another day for you to see.

But overall she is very excited about school and enjoys going. The teachers have said she is doing very good and has jumped right in.
