Boosterthon Fun Run

Last Thursday was pretty exciting! Ladybug woke up and immediately told me that today was the Fun Run!

This year the school decided to do something different to raise money instead of selling products. They had a fun run and each child had to get sponsors to sponsor them for each lap that they completed. You could pledge any dollar amount per lap. The most laps you could run was 35. So if you sponsored $1 per lap the most you would pay would be $35.

Ladybug ended up with $9 per lap sponsored and she completed 31 laps for a total of $279. Pretty good huh.

Here is her class waiting to go into the gym.

Enter through the tunnel.

Here are all of the kindergardners waiting to begin. They all ran together.

Here was the first lap and it was the pace lap. Otherwise, I think we would have had a mountain of kids all of top of each other when they took off.

Come on lets go!

She couldn't wait to get lightening bolts painting on her face. I believe her class name was Ms. Kannons lightening bolts.

And we are off!

She is in the back by the blue.

She tried to slow down to pose for the camera. lol.

This was the robot lap. Here she is walking like a robot. They had a different theme on each lap.

The crazy guys that put this on. Here they are dancing to one of the songs. These guys ran with the kids the whole time and just got them pumped. They had sweat pouring off of them after the kindergardners left and they still had 1st -4th classes to do!

Here she stopped in the middle of the lap to show me her back. This was a great idea, each time they passed the start point, the teachers had a magic marker and they would put a slash to show how many laps were completed.

This time she stopped running to show me her lightening bolt.

This was too sweet. These are two of her classmates. The boy in front broke his leg and arm this year and has missed several months of school and is still limping pretty bad and one of his friends held his hand for many laps towards the end. In fact I think that Ladybug is sweet on this little boy. She has her two top sweethearts but he has made it on her list now.

Still running.

All the parents stood in the middle and cheered the kids on with bam bam's.

All done and happy!

Show me how many you got.

As you can see she has a couple of hearts and starts on the last few. Since they had to time the run, she didn't get to complete 35 and she really wanted to and she just bust out crying at the end when they told her to stop. So one of the teachers drew these on her empty spaces and it appeased her a little.

Very fun event and from what I heard it was very successful for the school.
