First of many lasts

Today was our last swim lesson at sea star. We have been going there for over four years now and both of my kids have learned to swim there! Although if it works out, I will try to let Ladybug attend one of their week long summer gym and swim camps because she really wants to. They play games in the gym, swim and then take the canoes out on the lake.

There are a lot of pictures because I just couldn't narrow them down.

Batman

Batman is in the middle adjusting his goggles.

He jumped off the side and had to swim to the other wall. To pass the "I can swim in the deep end" swim test, you have to jump off the side, come up and take at least one breath and use at least 3 reachers to get to the other wall and climb out with out any assistance.

Batman did it but I am not sure officially, not sure if he did the reachers right. But in my book he passed because he can swim that far by himself!

Climbing out

And jumping in again.

Swimming to the wall.

Here is Ladybug and her favorite teacher Ms. Janet. Ladybug couldn't wait to get in Ms. Janet's little flippers class about two years ago and she finally made it last year. We found out today that Ms. Janet is also moving next week and will be going to Florida.

Today was a low number day and where there are usually 6-8 kids in her class there were only two, so they pretty much got a private lesson and some extra play and slide time.

Batman doing the backstroke.

Ladybug getting her breath. They have been teacher her how to bring her head up sideways to get a breath like swimmers go.

Working on the dive.

Frog legs, teaching how to do the butterfly stroke with your legs.

Batman and his class.

Frog with hands and legs.

And again.

Ladybug back floating.

Batman all done with his class.

Ok, it looks good right, great form!

More great form.

Batman waiting for Ladybug to get done.

They got to jump in a few time.

Excellent form and take off but.....she belly smacks everytime! She just cant figure out the dive!

We will miss sea star. As much as Ladybug enjoys swimming, we will find a swim team that she can still swim with down in Houston but of course it will be different. And Batman declared today that he "loved" swim lessons so both my kids my be swimmers......wonder what they think about diving?? hmmmm.
