Daddy has found a new hobby. Airsoft. Here is Batman with his mask on.

Here is Batman with a dart stuck to his head on the glass!

Then, I just needed a picture of "the boots". Everyone has commented on these boots. I am not sure that friends will recognize Batman if he is not wearing these boots because for the last several months (even before there was any snow) he started wearing these daily. And they still look brand new. I love consignment sales!
Well, this snow episode kind of snuck up on us. It really was not supposed to be anything significant but on Monday evening as I stepped outside..

this was what was already happening!

Then over night it rained/sleeted and kind of beat the snow down to this.

But then on Tuesday morning, it started snowing and snowing!
So we had a snow day!

Kids in bed watching "kid shows" as Ladybug calls them.

And it kept snowing!

And snowing!

And snowing!

So it was a great day to begin working on our valentines. After giving Ladybug several options, we decided on making butterflies. Here she is cutting out the hearts for the wings. She had to cut out 36 heart and did them all herself.

Then she addressed all of them, including the to: and from:. I thought I would hear some complaining on having to write everyone's name and hers over and over but she was so funny. She had her school list of names and would just go right down the list and check one off and then move to the next.

Here are our completed butterflies. The body is two pieces of gum and the wings are the cut out hearts and then we added antennas and a sticker in the middle.

Then Batman and I had to put the stickers on his. We stuck to the boxed kind for him. His attention span was just right for putting stickers on to close them up and then that was it!

Ladybug went to spend some time with daddy and Batman and I had some quiet time to work on his letters. Thank you to Janma for all of the learning tools! The bear letters on the wall are the ones that he pretty much knows and we review. Then the ones he is holding in his hand are letters that have like a sandpaper feel to them so that he can trace them with his finger to learn their shape. We actually made it through every letter tracing and matching them up with the bears on the wall!

And the phone call came early Tuesday afternoon that we WOULD have school on Wednesday but as the night wore on, more and more schools were closing and it started snowing again and the roads were turning white which means that they would turn over to ice overnight. And sure enough, I got the phone call at 6am, that school would indeed be canceled.

So we had friends over to play! We have four nerf guns now so all four kids had a nerf gun and had the softball pitcher pitching balls and they were shooting the balls as they came out! Too funny, they were all standing at attention waiting for the pitch!

Then we played with stickers.
After everyone left, Batman went down for a nap (yeaaa) and Ladybug and I worked on her valentines day box for school.

We wrapped with pink and purple tissue paper and then decorated with stickers.

It was a big box, but it was the only one I had!
After that Ladybug and I read some more Junie B. Then after pulling her awana book out to study we dove into some deep subjects of heaven, and hell and God and Satan and Satan being an Angel, and good and bad choices that everyone has made including Satan and Adam and Even and the result of those choice that has affected us. Wheeeew. She never ceases to amaze me with her conversations.
Then Awana on Wednesday night. Ladybug finished her first book in Sparkies. She was very excited. Next week she has to go through and do all the review and she will get her new book!
Back to school on Thursday and a busy Thursday it was. More to come maybe tomorrow.
