Our first year to go Grandma Blake joined Lady bug and I. November 2007. Lady bug was 3 years old.
Then last year Ladybug and I went just the two of us. November 2008. Ladybug was 4 years old.
Well this year I wanted Batman to join us. I started taking both kids to performances when they were two and I felt like he was ready for this one and would enjoy it. This year Janma and Grandpa Hatch are in town and they got to join us. We had a great time. Of course Ladybug enjoyed it as I had expected, but I was very proud of Batman. He did wonderful and sat with me and watched the entire show. He enjoyed the performace but he would comment everytime the lights changed dramatically or if one of the spotlights came on or moved. I explained to him that if he enjoyed something, that he should clap and he was so cute sitting up tall clapping his hands together at the end of each section.
We went to dinner before hand at Olive Garden. This was their first trip there (that they would remember) and they both liked it. I love to take Lady bug to O'Charley's for grown up meals. But during dinner tonight, she looked at me and said, "This is my favorite restaurant now... Well, I still like McDonalds." Cracked me up.
I try and try to get a picture of them both together, both smiling at the same time and both actually looking the same way (preferably at the camera) but it very rarely happens, just like here, but this one was so cute.

And the hot chocolate at intermission. We have done this at least the last two years. They make delicious hot chocolate and I promised we would have some tonight as well.
They both like it. Althought Batman called his "coffee".
It is very neat to watch Ladybug understand more and more of what is going on at the performance each year and it was great to share it with Batman for the first time.
