Zoo Day June 30, 2010

I never tire of visiting the Nashville Zoo. Although, on today's trip, I believe it is the very first time that we have made it through the entire zoo on one visit. We did it all this time.

Ladybug commented that "I have not been to the zoo since Kindergarten!" (We had a field trip here in April!)

The monkeys of course.

We headed to the play area first, which we never do, because I try to get animals in first, but hey, why not.

Our friends that we enjoyed the day with.

Yes, my son with his head in the hippo!

Carousel rides!

Feeding the Loorikeets. While riding the carousel, we saw another friend and joined up with her in the Loorikeet cage.

These two boys are scary together!

Sweet.

We got the workers talking. Heard about the nests. I think there were five eggs at the time in boxes and they were hoping for more babies soon.

He had to wash and dry his hands with the bird sink even though he didn't touch anything.

The boys!

Everyone wants a chance at the telescope to see the meerkats. Too funny because none of them are really tall enough and they come right up to the glass so you don't really need a telescope.

Had to watch the snake climb up the glass.

Cool... alligators.

There are those boys again.

Watching the Koi fish. I believe a couple of them got loose and swam down to the lower water area. So the kids had to watch them.

And here is the shot of the hour. Every picture I take of Batman consists of shooting in it. Who knows why but this is his pose for every picture now!

Of course Ladybug poses on the rock for me.

We just got two wallaby's in the petting zoo area and we are waiting on the new flamingos exhibit to open in August.

Brushing the goats. I guess they like this, they just sit there and take it. I personally like watching the camels in the petting are.

We followed up the hot day with milkshakes church that evening.
