Library of Congress

Passing through the tunnel to the library of Congress. We didn't do the tour here.  We were in between the tour times and because after a full morning of education, the kids were starting to fade. The library had a lot of exhibits to walk through and you could view the main reading room but most amazing was the size and the architecture.
 Walking through the tunnel
History of the mapping of the U.S.

The Gutengerg Bible was one of the most notable exhibits

 So pretty
One of the exhibits was a portion of the Thomas Jefferson Library. After the building burned in 1812, Thomas Jefferson sold his collection to the library for $23,000.  It did end up burning again and they lost I think 2/3 of this books but here are some that survived or that the exact editions were replaced.

This is the main reading room.

Ladybug and I are up there!
The ceiling.
Some facts for you
