Dying day

It was October 31st but nothing to do with Halloween.  It was time to dye the kids shirts for their field day (yes it is not till May) shirt!

On tuesday after school we got together to make the dye.  We have about 1100 kids in the school.  Each grade level gets a different color die.  We made approx. 3.5 gallons for each grade level.
The kids helped too!  Measuring out the urea (yes that is spelled correct) and the water and the dye.
Batman helped too!  Notice it was also hat day for him.  He talked about it being hat day for three days!
The whole group of parent and their kids who stayed after at school to help.

Then it is finally dying day.  Kids were very excited.  They only get to poor it on their shirts.  The volunteers line up with old clothes and gloves and mix it around.  Would be way too messy for the kids.
Ladybug is purple this year. ( I got a purple shirt for the girls).

Batman is yellow!  Daddy got a yellow shirt (for the boys).

Now we get to hold on to them until May!
