Inks Lake Camping Trip

Last weekend we planned another camping trip.  This time we went to Inks Lake State Park on the other side of Austin, TX.  It was not easy to get there.  It took us about four hours and many back roads but it was worth drive.

We stayed right on the lake and it was beautiful.  You walk into the water from any point that you want to.  The kids swam and swam and swam in the lake.  We floated on tubes to Devil's waterhole where the kids could jump off the rocks.  We had one moment where my heart dropped to my toes.  I think the whole lake heard me scream when another child slipped on the rocks and Ladybug was below her climbing up and they both slid about 5 -10 feet into the water down the rocks.  But they were both ok.  Ladybug heard me scream and actually tried to push herself from the rock backward which helped minimize the impact.  After Jess regained her composure and my heart started beating normal again she informed me that she was "missing out on the fun" and wanted to climb the rocks again to jump.  Daddy when with her this time.

We ate lots of food, swam a lot, rented two boats for the day and simply relaxed. No electronics, lots of sunscreen and many memories!
We have our next trip planned for Labor Day!  Can't wait!
